A few months later, they both broke up with the love of bachelorhood and spinsterhood. They became husband and wife.
Their marriage was a simple one. The first marriage I ever attended in my laugh. Don't ask why cuz I also don't have the answer.
I usually get the "are you serious?" or "how come?" or "how is that even possible" questions and unbelievable look when I tell people that I am in my 20's and have never been to a wedding before.
Their marriage was really swift. I had just gotten to know that Abu-Hanifa had fallen in love and suddenly a few months later I saw the I.V. that he was getting marriage. It was really a stand out from year or years long preparations before people actually get married.
The marriage was a simple one as it should be. It took place on a Friday. After the jumuah prayer, it was announced that there was going to be a nikkah. Some worshippers left while some stayed. The iman sat at the centre while the representatives of the family sat on either sides. I looked for the groom but he was not even there.
Believe you me, I don't know how clear I can say this but in less than five minutes, it was all over. That was it. They were officially married.
No pre wedding pics. No music. No mixed dancing. Heck, I didn't even see the bride.
After eating a delicious meal, I wanted to take my leave but Abu-Hanifa called me back and said he would also like to take a picture with me. I had earlier avoided taking a picture with him because people were just clamouring to take pictures with him and he looked tired. I didn't even see him eat. I accepted the offer.
I later returned home.
I am just wishing to be as lucky as he is. To find a religious and smart girl. To fall in love . To cut through all the noise that comes with getting married and just going straight through with. .
May be my soul mate might even be reading this. {Just felt like adding this.}
