Why gloves doesn't protect against covid-19
BismiLLAH
Introduction
The Covid-19 epidemic is as real as it can get. There are a lot of correct information, misinformation and untrue information out there available to the public.
The aim of writing this is to in sha Allah clear one of the wrong information out there.
Let me state it again. Wearing of gloves by itself doesn't protect against covid-19 and here is why.
How corona spreads
It is important to know how the virus spreads.
It spreads by airborne droplets. Droplets of bodily fluids - such as saliva from the mouth or mucus from the nose - of an infected person are dispersed in the air or on surfaces by coughing or sneezing.
These droplets can come in direct contact with other people or can infect those who pick up objects that have the droplets on them and then touch their face. The virus then enters through the eyes, nose or mouth.
These droplets can come in direct contact with other people or can infect those who pick up objects that have the droplets on them and then touch their face. The virus then enters through the eyes, nose or mouth.
In essence, if an infected person say, A, coughs or sneezes on a healthy person, B, and the droplets enter through the eyes or nose or mouth of the person, then the person gets inflected.
Also, if an infected person say, A, coughs or sneezes on a hard surface (such as door knob, plates , phones) a healthy person,B, touches that object and then touches his face or mouth then the healthy person would also get infected.
Why gloves won't work
If you wear a glove and touch an infected surface and then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, you would get infected.
As you can see from above, many people go around with gloves through out the day not knowing that there is no difference in wearing it or not.
The correct method.
The correct way of using gloves is when you are suspecting to get in contact with something that is already infected and so immediately after handling the suspected infected surface, you remove the gloves and dispose properly.
